MCMAP Ground Fighting sustainment and sparring will be the order of the day.
Ground fighting skills are introduced during gray belt training. While the ground is certainly not the most advantageous position for a combative engagement, we must be aware of and prepared for the fact that the majority of hand-to-hand engagements go to the ground at some point. Ground fighting is also a basic skill that is relatively easy to control and practice, and it does not require an inordinate amount of safety gear. By incorporating adequate safety gear, personnel, and safety measures, Marines are able to use these new skills against active, resisting opponents. At all levels to include this one, weapons are introduced and utilized during portions of the training. In this manner, proper mindset, and ability to adapt to the situation are fostered.
Plt Sgts will have accountability with all who will attend Company training by the weekly Thursday meeting. If you have any issues with the below or any other reason not to spar, inform your chain of command. Plt leaders will bring 100% accountability to the Thursday meeting.
